Ideas for Promoting Empowered Birth Awareness Week
ALTHOUGH YOU DON'T HAVE TO- You may use the artwork above for the promotion of all events relating to Empowered Birth Awareness Week.
Have a demonstration or free talk at a local library.

Make your own artwork like the one above to publicize this
event- use photoshop, crayons, paint or craft!

Display your artwork in the windows of your car, on your desk at
work, in the windows of your house - anywhere you can!

Make and publish a youtube video.

Have a video contest.

Blog about it. Ask your readership to com up with ideas for
promoting, or ask your readers to *do* something for this week.

Create a poster or a lawn sign to put out for this week. Use your
Birthpower lawn sign to raise awareness about empowered birth
choices.

FACEBOOK
  • Post one of the pieces of artwork above as your
    facebook profile picture for the week. Ask your friends if
    they would be willing to do the same!
  • Ask your readers to talk about empowered birth and
    share their stories, photos and videos.


Plan a celebration or picnic with your local groups or
(midwives and doulas) invite your past clients. Make it a fund
raiser for your favorite non profit! (We love
Birthing the
Future
 & Birth Truth on Labor Day)

Join with birthworkers  in your area create an event at a local
park.
  • Use the local community news, facebook, etc.,  to
    publicize your event.
  • Write a press release and e-mail, call, fax it to your local
    newspapers.  (click here for a WikiHow guide to
    writing a press release.)
  • Invite mothers to tell their empowered birth stories.
  • Have a question and answer period for the public.
  • Promote your own free class!
  • Gather to tell and share empowered birth stories.
Tell everyone, and talk about this event. Use your networks to
promote as much as possible.

Put this news and our invitation to , " Make it your own," into
your newsletters, discussion groups, facebook pages, etc.

Make a youtube video describing what empowered birth
means to you OR make a video with those photos of
YOUR empowered Week.

Put an invitation to this event on your e-mail tag.

Create your own artwork like the one above to publicize
this event- use photoshop, crayons, paint or craft!
  • Scan it and offer it to others to print and/or post.
  • Make a sign in your language for others to use, e-mail it
    to me and I will post it!

FACEBOOK
  • Starting in August, choose any week and post one of the
    pieces of artwork above as your facebook profile picture.
    Ask your friends if they would be willing to do the same!

  • Make a Facebook Event group for your local area. Ask
    others to join. Create an event together and make it
    happen! (example; Empowered Birth Awarness Week,
    Northern NJ)

  • Post the link to our Empowered Birth Awareness Week
    Facebook group and ask everyone you know to do the
    same.
